Jones: Mount Joy Receives Grant for Municipal Complex Improvements

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tom Jones (R-Lancaster/Lebanon) announced that Mount Joy Township has receive a $1 million grant through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for improvements to is municipal complex.

“These improvements will help Mount Joy Township better serve residents by strengthening public safety, enhancing the operations of our public works and police departments, and ensuring the municipal complex can meet the community’s needs for years to come,” Jones said. “I’m pleased the Commonwealth recognized the value of this project by awarding this grant to the township, and I look forward to seeing the lasting benefits it will provide.”

The project will consolidate the equipment and storage areas at the complex. Work includes the construction of an additional paved access lane for public works and police, increasing the parking area for the police department, new security fencing and automated gates to provide security for the complex, as well as added landscaping to limit access to secured areas. Additional stormwater management facilities where needed will be installed.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget that supports the design, acquisition and construction of projects with regional economic, civic, cultural, recreational or historical significance. RACP projects must demonstrate regional impact and require local investment.
